Q: What if I turn my a/c on and nothing happens?
A: Some things to check before calling for service include, turn the thermostat fan switch to "fan on", see if furnace is blowing air out of any registers. If it is not, check the switch on the side of the furnace to see if it is in the on position. If it is and the furnace is still not running, check the breakers to see if they are on. If the furnace is running but the a/c is still not on check the breakers for the a/c. If the a/c still is not on check outside at the a/c unit. There is a box on the wall with a disconnect in it. Make sure it is pushed in all the way. If after 5 minutes nothing is on please call us for service.
Q: How often should I change my filters?
A: If they are the 1" throw away type they should be replaced every 30 days. If they are the media type (4" wide) they should be replaced every 90 days.
Q: What about electronic air cleaners?
A: The pre filter and cells should be run through the dishwasher every 30 days.
Q: What should I do if I see ice forming on my copper lines by the furnace or a/c
A: The first thing to check is your filters. Dirty filters will cause a decrease in air flow which can cause the coil to "freeze up". If the filters are clean then turn the a/c off. Turn the fan switch on the thermostat to " fan on". This will allow the air to melt the ice that has formed on the coil. Then please call for service. |
